 (Red is 24hour only - not required for 12hour races)
REQUIRED GEAR FOR ENTIRE RACE

 (Team)
   
    * Punchcard & Instructions (provided)
   
    * Fine Tip WATERPROOF MARKER    
    * First Aid Kit (contents listed below)   
    * Water Purification system (tablets ok)
   
    * Tarp, min 8' x 10'  tyvek OK (24-hour races)

    * Sleeping Bag (min 45 degree) (24-hour races)

 (Per Person)   
    * Racer Bib (provided at Registration) must be worn as described in rules   
    * Compass   
    * Whistle   
    * Container(s) in which to carry at least 2 liters of water   
    * Headlamp with fresh batteries
(extra spare batteries for for 24-hour races)
    * Emergency blanket   
    * Knife (1.5" or larger blade)

    * Waterproof lighter (ziploc bagged is fine) (24-hour races)

    * Synthetic long sleeve top layer   
    * Wool or synthetic hat

    * Synthetic long leg bottom layer (24-hour races)   
    * Wind/Rain Jacket (24-hour races)


REQUIRED GEAR FOR PADDLING

 (Team)   
    * Canoe (provided)


 (Per Person)
   
    * PFD - must be Coast Guard approved type Ill minimum, non-inflatable (supplied if needed)   
    * Paddle — canoe or kayak (canoe paddle supplied if needed)   
    * Whistle (MUST be attached to PFD)


REQUIRED GEAR FOR MOUNTAIN BIKING


 (Team)
   
    * repair kit includes Allen wrenches, patch kit, chain tool, tire levers, tube   
    * tire pump/CO2 cartridge inflator


 (Per Person)

    * Mountain Bike in good working order - NO Road or Cross Bikes    * bike helmet
    * Rear red blinking light mounted on bike (for 24-hour races)    * Front white light mounted on bike (for 24-hour races)

TEAM FIRST AID KIT CONTENTS:   
  * 2 - 4x4 gauze pads   
  * roll I” waterproof medical or duct tape   
  * 3 doses of anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen, etc)   
  * 3 doses Benadryl or other anti-histamine   
  * Epi-Kit - if known anaphylaxis   
  * tweezers   
  * moleskin/compeed (enough for all three competitors)   
  * antibacterial ointment   
  * 3” ace bandage       
  * 2 ounces betadine or 4 antiseptic wipes

SUGGESTED GEAR FOR PADDLING SECTION   
    * closed toed watershoes
   
    * center seat for 3rd person (no sitting on center thwart)
   
    * pogies neoprene gloves (if it’s chilly)
   
    * portage wheels


SUGGESTED INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM GEAR
   
    * waterproof pants   
   
    * a means to waterproof your map(s) (map case)
   
    * fleece pullover/jacket (check weather)
   
    * altimeter
